Bell St

A distinctive 1870's building that was once a primary school sits amongst neighbouring residences in Fitzroy.
This project is an example of what can be achieved through collaboration. The client / architect / builder relationship worked so smoothly at Fitzroy residence which allowed us to collectively solve all the challenges this project put up. Being a heritage-listed building with internal controls, built on bluestone footings and an ambitious redesign the challenges were plentiful. But this project was truly a joy to build and deliver.
Fitzroy residence features a curved bulk head to the master bedroom which exudes opulence upon entry. This leads into a private ensuite featuring hand-made finger tiles laid in a wave pattern. A tiled bathtub and a domed ceiling all coming together to create a Hamam-style private bath house.
The project also features custom fabricated steel doors with reeded glass inspired from New York Loft apartments, 2-pac V grooved joinery throughout and a selection of carefully chosen light fittings.
Stepping upstairs the kitchen is all below bench saving an arched focal point in the splashback. A Gaggenau downdraft cooktop was painstakingly ventilated to atmosphere without any visual intrusion. Fisher & Paykel fridge drawers also make the space easy to use and highly functional.

Our client's exquisite taste in artwork brings the entire home together with a carefully curated art collection which has been amassed over years.

Fitzroy Residence was truly one of our most rewarding projects.
