Hope St
Only a short walk from lively Sydney road, Hope St House stands out with a bold new facade.
Situated next to a laneway, the semi-detached townhouse experiences high foot traffic and noise which appeared not to change once inside. The clients had lived in the area for many years and didn’t want to move, so with a growing family were keen to make the house meet their needs. New Binq double glazed windows and acoustic plaster transformed the inside, absorbing noise making the space quiet and private.
In contrast to the dark angular silhouette of the exterior, the interior focused on warm textured materials and subtle curves throughout. Japanese speckle tiles in the kitchen alongside an earthy green island bench add depth and personality to the open plan kitchen/dining. Burnt orange fabric on the banquette seating compliments the timber joinery, creating hidden storage and maximising space.
The upstairs ensuite was completely re-configured to better use the compact space and clients needs. Warm orange porcelain floor tiles and distinct Japanese speckle feature tiles make the ensuite a soft and inviting space.
This project was designed and built by Heidi Build and were thrilled to hand it over our lovely clients.
